William (Bill) Stevenson, III

William (Bill) Stevenson, III

Bill Stevenson III lives in Wilmington, DE with his wife Linda, and is now a grandfather. The best way to find out about Bill is to read his book The Stone Balloon Story, The Early Years.

It explains why Bill left Pennsylvania in 1968 to attend the University of Delaware and play football, and how a strange turn of events led him to buy a rundown Main Street tavern and open The Stone Balloon in 1971.

Bill is now operating the courier company he founded in 1969, and has invented a plant support system that is soon to be on sale in all major retailers.

Bill is active in the Senior Olympics and has won the gold medal in the shot put in the 50-54 and 55-59 age group over the last six years.

Quote of the day

Books constitute capital. A library book lasts as long as a house, for hundreds of years. It is not, then, an article of mere consumption but fairly of capital, and often in the case of professional men, setting out in life, it is their only capital.
